We would like to invite you and your ITF members to participate in General Choi’s Memorial Cup Championship to be held on Saturday April 11, 2015 in Toronto, Canada.

The Birth of Taekwon-do was on April 12, 1955. This year we celebrate its 60th birthday and we are honored to welcome you to this extraordinary event and honor General Choi’s legacy of the Taekwondo.

We Tae Kwon-Do practitioners are honored and proud of our Founder. I hope that during this Championship we would get together to celebrate Taekwondo Birthday as well as to honor General Choi’s Legacy and build our Friendship and Unity.

Dear Grand Masters, Master, Instructors and Taekwon-Do Families,

We would like to thank you all for attending and supporting the General Choi Memorial Cup Championship 2014. It was a great success.

We received very positive feedback from out attendees and visitors and are looking forward to next year’s General Choi Memorial Cup Championship 2015 – this will mark the 60th birthday of Taekwon-Do, which is a very special number in oriental cultures an it represents the end of one big cycle and the beginning of a new one. We are hoping to see you all again for this special occasion.

Grand Master Jong Soo Park – Pioneer of Taekwondo

GM Jong Soo ParkMaster Park was born in 1941 in Chung-Nam, Korea. He holds a 9th Dan black belt in Tae Kwon-Do. At the age of 14, and since then, he has been the instructor of the Police Training Centre of Chun Bok in Korea and of the famed Tiger Division of the Korean Army.

In 1964, he became Korean National Champion, and in 1965 he made a trip on request of the Korean Government, as a member of the Goodwill Mission for Tae Kwon-Do, demonstrating this art before the highest civil and military authorities of the countries they visited. In that same year, he was invited to Germany as the coach of the German Tae Kwon-Do Association.

In 1966, he left Germany to go to Holland where he founded the Netherlands Tae Kwon-Do Association. In the beginning of 1968, he left for Canada and now has his own schools in the Greater Toronto Area.

In November 1973, Master Park made another world trip to promote Tae Kwon-Do in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. Master Park is known as one of the world’s greatest Tae Kwon-Do experts.

We would like to thank you all for attending and supporting the General Choi Memorial Cup Championship 2013. It was a great success, so was GM Jong Soo Park’s special seminar and promotion test for masters and instructors at the following day.

This year we had more than 300 competitors and were especially excited of having competing teams from Argentina, the US and Canada.

We received very positive feedback and are looking forward to next year’s General Choi Memorial Cup Championship 2014 and hoping to see you there all again. For 2014 we are planing to expand the international team competition by inviting more teams to compete.
